Sally Oates is an Occupational Therapist with over 20 years of experience in occupational therapy. Sally is a dedicated practitioner who is committed to facilitating people to experience as much independence as possible in their daily activities.
QUALIFICATIONS
Sally’s formal qualifications relating to the services she provides includes Functional Independence Measure (FIM) and Care and Needs Scale (CANS) accreditation as well as being an Approved Lifetime Care and Support Case Manager. Sally is registered with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia – AHPRA.
SPECIALISATIONS
Sally’s key areas of experience includes:
Occupational therapy in community-based settings for people with complex injuries including traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, amputations, burns and significant orthopaedic conditions.
Prescription in wheelchairs and seating (10+ years).
Prescription of other adaptive equipment, or “assistive technology” to assist a person in their daily activities. This includes equipment to assist transfers, assistance for daily living equipment (kitchen and bathroom aids),
Sally places a large emphasis on effective communication, and it motivated to help people to achieve their goals.
Sally is a strong supporter of person-centred service planning.
